St Oswald’s Church, Lower Peover is holding an Advent Draw to cheer us all up in these uncertain times! There are 25 prizes, and a ticket will be drawn by Father Murray Aldridge-Collins every day between the 1st December to 25th December 2020. Prizes will include a turkey, Christmas hamper, Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, bottle of brandy, festive afternoon tea for two, meal for two at The Bells of Peover, meal for two at The Golden Pheasant and many other goodies! Winners will be announced on this page.

Day 25: Final Draw The Holy Family are a little busy this morning so Fr Murray had to call on the three kings to draw the final ticket. The final winner of the Advent Draw is Caroline Aspin who wins a meal for 2 and a bottle of wine donated by Dave and the team at the Bells of Peover.
Day 24: Christmas Eve The Holy Family should have found an inn by now but when Fr Murray went to check there was no room for them to stay, so they were sent to a barn where there was a stable for them to sleep in during this silent night. Day 23: 23rd December The vicar has had to ask for help again as he searches for the Holy Family. This time a nice man in the field with a tractor gives him a lift so that he finds them in time to draw the winning ticket on Day 23 of the Advent Draw The winner is Glynis Knott who wins a Christmas Cake donated by Elspeth Turner.
Day 22: 22nd December The vicar’s busy rounding up lost sheep in the churchyard with a little bit of help from the Holy Family, as he draws the winning ticket on Day 22 of the Advent Draw. The winners are Roger and Elspeth Turner who win six bottles of wine donated by Ralph Manners Wood.
Day 21: 21st December Christmas Day is getting closer and there’s been a bit of horsing around today as Holy Family are still trying to find a donkey. Where do you think Fr Murray have found them as he looked for their help to draw the winning ticket on Day 21 of the Advent Draw. The winner on Day 21 is Mike Ashley who wins a bottle of Damson Gin donated by Sally Aspin.
Day20:20th December The Holy Family are still wandering around the village. They’re not at the new Vicarage so Fr Murray had to enlist the help of Rudolph to draw the winning ticket on Day 20 of the Advent Draw The winner is Helen Vernon who wins a £20 Book Token donated by Yvonne Coates.
Day 19:19th December Father Murray rescues the Holy Family from a helpful parishioner who’s giving them a ride – but in the wrong direction! So he enlists some help to draw the winning ticket on Day 19 of the Advent Draw. The winner is Johnathon Richardson who wins a bottle of Gin donated by George and Noreen Dutton.
Day 18:18th December The Holy Family have found an inn but there’s no room, even though there are carol singers in the background as Fr Murray draws the winning ticket on Day 18 of the Advent Draw The winners on Day 18are Matthew and Solange Livings who win a bottle of Southern Comfort donated by Lawrence at the Country Store.
Day 17: 17th December The bells are ringing for the Holy Family today as they take a step closer to heaven. But at least the Vicar’s on home territory as he draws the winning ticket on Day 17 of the Advent Draw. The winner on Day 17 is Sue Kellett who wins a box of chocolates donated by Joe and Ruth Hague.
Day 16: 16th December It’s pouring with rain and the vicar’s lost the Holy Family…again! It’s pouring with rain but hee travels in style to find them. Day 15: 15th December The Holy Family are determined to find transport to take them to Bethlehem and what do you think they found today? Something you wouldn’t expect to see in Lower Peover is looking on as Fr Murray draws the winning ticket on Day 15 of the Advent Draw. The winner on day 15 is Kath Bell who wins a box of biscuits and a bottle of wine donated by Sylvia Hankinson.
Day 14:14th December The cattle are lowing but where are the Holy Family. Fr Murray’s on their trail as he draws the winning ticket for Day 14 of the Advent Draw. The winner on Day 14 is Mrs D Collinge who wins a selection of St Oswald’s memorabilia donated by Sally Geake and family.
Day 13: 13th December The Holy Family seem to have been looking for a donkey. Do you think they’ve managed to find one. Day 11: 11th December Fr Murray has had to wander around looking for the Holy Family again. This time some shepherds helped him find them. Day 10: 10th December The Vicar had to ask some villagers to help him find the Holy Family as he was looking for them today. He finally found them indoors with their heads in a book.
